Buildings

The property consists of the main house, two large two story attached barns one of which is completely renovated as an entertainment / family room, a dépendence we call the "salon d'été" (summer lounge) on seven acres of land. The house is a beautiful long building with stunning views to the Southwest and arranged over two floors as illustrated in the plans. All bedrooms have new solid oak timber floors, whilst all other internal surfaces are tiled tastefully and all ceilings retain the original oak beams.

Grounds

The property has a prominent position located at the top of a valley with views to 20 kilometres. The main access is a private road to the rear of the property and sweeps around to the end of the barns where parking bays have been formed. Access to the buildings is by the front of the house through a magnificent arch and a gravelled terrace.

The front (southwest) of the property has magnificent far reaching south and westerly views across the valleys, with a mix of terraces and gravel which merge with sweeping lawns sloping down to the pool and open fields below. The salon d'été is set at a right angle to the main house with three large arched French doors and terraced eating area also offering far reaching westerly views of sunsets. The pool is located below the house and is surrounded by hard paving, dwarf walls and a raised wooden deck. In addition to the lawns, there are a number of beautifully planted flower beds and mature trees (poplar, oak, birch) which provide shelter from sun as needed and a wonderful bouquet of colour and perfume. Outside the kitchen is a timber arbour "abri" which is covered by wisteria and trumpet vines and provides a magnificent sheltered outside dining or lounging area to watch the fabulous setting sun, have a glass of wine or monitor children pool fun below.

To the rear (north) of the house is a large enclosed "Bastide" walled terraced courtyard incorporating a magnificent arch to the terraces, two natural wells one of which is a fountain, raised flower beds, a built in stone barbeque, a covered opening for shade, and a stone staircase leading to the large barn entertainment room. For evening enjoyment, there is up-lighting for outdoor enjoyment and eating / entertaining.

The courtyard can be accessed via the formal dining room, the lounge, the arch or a north door to an orchard. Set above the courtyard is an orchard with (apple, apricot, plum, pear, fig, walnut) trees which also provide an ideal level grassy area to play "boule" or croquet.

To the east of the house and above the salon d'été is a staircase to the orchard with banked lawns, shrubs and a lovely mature cherry tree.

To the west of the house are terraced lawns and parking set under mature oak and birch trees with lovely Hydrangea for colour. The main drive into the property terminates at the western extremity of the barns and is 400 meters to the road providing safety for children and domestic animals
